<p>The machine has a tool holder arranged at a machining head (10), which is movable parallel to a rotational axis of a workpiece holder (50) over a linear movement axis (Z1) of the machine. A controller automatically controls the linear movement axis during serration machining of a workpiece and/or during trimming of a tool. Another machining head (20) includes another tool holder and another rotational axis (B2), and is movable independent of the former machining head over another linear movement axis (Z2). The latter linear movement axis is provided parallel to the former linear movement axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a gear cutting machine.</p> |
