A premix nozzle (150) for an industrial gas turbine engine comprising:
a housing (152) defining an interior and having an outlet (159) communicating with the interior, the housing (152) further having a housing opening (160) communicating with the interior, the housing opening (160) being operative such that air exterior to the housing (152) is drawn into the interior of the housing (152) through the housing opening (160), mixed with fuel, and directed out of the housing (152) through the outlet (159); and
a valve (170) contacting the exterior of the housing (192) and having a valve opening (172), the valve (170) being movable between an open position, in which the valve opening (172) is aligned with the housihg opening (160) such that air exterior to the housing (152) is drawn into the interior of the housing (152) through the valve opening (172) and the housing opening (160), and a closed position, in which a reduced amount of air exterior to the housing (152) is drawn into the interior. |
