[Also in Group XXXIV] The drawer 17 of a filing cabinet runs on a roller or wheels 16 at the front of the casing 10 and carries at the back a roller or pair of wheels 34 adapted to run on the underside of the top of the casing and engage a downwardly directed lip 11 on the front of the casing to limit outward movement of the drawer, the wheels &c. or their rims being made of resilient material such as polythene or rubber. A drawer guide rail 14 extends along the middle of the casing and the shaft 15 of the wheels 16 is carried by the sides of the rail, a transverse slot in the rail enabling the shaft and wheels to be inserted after the casing has been stoveenamelled. The drawer 17 has a front plate 22 fitting a border recess in the casing, side walls 18, and a rear wall 30 slotted to take the wheels 34 and a lower wheel 36 running on the guide rail 14. The floor 19 of the drawer is of inverted channel section with a strip 25 fixed to the raised middle part with its edges projecting to form guides for the card support 26 described in Specification 672,201, [Group XV]. |
