A grid tied inverter connectable to an electricity grid comprises a DC-DC current fed push-pull converter 120, a transformer and an unfolding circuit 130. The unfolding circuit is connected to a mains electricity supply and the DC-DC converter is connected to a DC source, e.g. battery 110. The DC-DC converter generates a current waveform from the DC voltage source, where the current waveform is substantially synchronised to the electricity grid. The transformer has a primary winding connected to a battery and a secondary winding connected to the grid, and a further winding, where the further winding and the secondary winding function as a potential divider. The arrangement is suitable for connecting domestic producers of electricity to the grid.
|
