The device (R) has a toggle lever closure comprising a spring assembly for compensating tolerances during fastening. The spring assembly includes a prestressed spring element between two bearings. A fixing part (2) and a base element (1) are operatively connected over the bearings by the spring assembly and at first and second joints via a linear profile. The linear profile comprises a third joint (14) with a pivotable jaw part (13) that is arranged at the base element. The jaw part comprises a mold-adapted movable curvature, which cooperates with another curvature of the base element. An independent claim is also included for an operation aid.
