A method for automatically filling, in a matrix (10) comprising data concerned with automation functionality, a user-selected area (14) depending on data comprised within said user-selected area (14), wherein said matrix (10) consists of at least one row and at least one column, is proposed, wherein the method comprises the steps of identifying at least one source-object (12) in said user-selected area (14), identifying at least one data-type associated in said matrix (10) with either a row or a column containing said source-object (12), identifying one auto-fill functionality for each identified data-type, applying said auto-fill functionality to each column or row of said user-selected area (14)depending on said source-object (12).
