The invention also relates to the individual coding sequences and to proteins encoded by these sequences in combination with other sequences as well as to a process for converting oleic acid to linoleic acid to linoleic acid and the production of arachidonic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid and/or docosahexaenoic acid in a plant.
