[Also in Group XXV] In a blind-stitching attachment comprising a work-engaging wheel 2 carried by an arm 1 pivotally mounted on a base-plate 5 attached to the machine bed by means 10, the arm is mounted on a plate 18 rotatable on the baseplate 5 about a pivot 39 and the base-plate has its end formed as a cam surface over which the nose of a spring catch 35, pivoted on the plate 18, rides as the arm is swung to and from its operative position, the arm being locked in the latter position by the catch engaging a notch in the cam surface. A U-member 42 holds the plates 18, 5 in contact. To enable the wheel 2 to be adjusted towards and away from the needle, the arm 1 is pivoted to the upper ends of a pair of links 13 mounted on a pivot pin 17 carried by the plate 18, a spring 22 being provided on the upper pivot to press the arm downwards; the adjustment is effected by a grooved screw 28 engaging a tail 24 on a member connecting the links 13, a clamping nut or screw 31 being provided to hold the links 13 in.any position of adjustment. |
