PURPOSE: A method for detecting nucleic acids using a TSG(target signal generating) primer is provided to amplify a target and a signal and to enable real-time target detection without a complex oligonucleotide. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting a target nucleic acid from DNA or a nucleic acid mixture using a TSG primer comprises: a step of hybridizing the target nucleic acid sequence with the TSG primer; a step of contacting the resultant with a template-dependent nucleic acid polymerase under conditions for primer elongation; and a step of detecting the signal.
