<p>Disclosed is a tool for matching the colour of a coating exhibiting gonio-apparent properties, whose visual appearance changes significantly depending on the angle at which they are illuminated or viewed on an article such as a car, truck or vehicle. The tool comprises a substrate comprising a plurality of square or rectangular colour chips, wherein each colour chip comprises a coating exhibiting gonio-apparent properties, and the plurality of colour chips are provided in a non-chromatic arrangement of different colour formulations on the substrate. A window is disposed directly adjacent to at least one side of each colour chip, wherein the window has a length at least 50-100% that of the adjacent side of the colour chip. The coating exhibiting gonio-apparent properties comprises a metallic effect such as aluminum, zinc, copper, brass, lead, bronze, and/or stainless steel, or an interference pigment.</p> |
