The car has a protective barrier (7) extending to a rear of a backrest of a rear seat. The barrier includes two rigid elongated elements (8, 9). Opposite ends (8a, 8b, 9a, 9b) of the elongated elements are fixed with parts (4, 5) of a body shell of the car to move the elements between two retracted positions, where the elongated elements are combined together to form the barrier in one of the retracted positions, and the elements are located close to a floor (2) of a rear boot (1) and a lower edge of the backrest of the rear seat in other retracted position.
