Disclosed is a smoking article having a tobacco rod with a smokeable material including glycerine in an amount of 5 wt% to 15 wt% as an aerosol former; and a filter comprising: a first filter segment; a flow restricting filter segment at a location adjacent and in a downstream relation to the first filter segment; a cavity in communication with and in a downstream relation to the flow restricting filter segment; and a ventilation zone at a location along and communicating with the cavity. The ventilation zone is in a downstream relation to the flow restricting filter segment.
