ARRANGEMENT FOR ACHIEVING A REPRESENTATIVE MILK SAMPLE WITH STIRRING TIME DETERMINED FROM MILK YIELD

An arrangement and method of providing a representative milk sample from an animal is disclosed. An automated milking station (1) is used including a milk extracting means (2), a milk receiver (3) and a stirring means (9, 10). The method comprises the steps of extracting the milk from the animal, transferring the milk to the receiver (3), determining the milk yield of the animal and transferring a sample from the receiver (3) to a sample unit (21). The milk is stirred before the sample is transferred to the sample unit and the stirring time is limited based on the milk yield of the animal.
