The mechanism (100) has a driving unit for driving a perpetual twelve cam. A thirty-days cam (4) directly or indirectly controls a date displaying unit i.e. pinion (412). A position counter mechanism (300) determines, for each day, the number of teeth of a wheel (31) to be actuated. The position counter mechanism is arranged to adjust duration of cooperation between a pawl finger (1) and the wheel depending on a current month and a day of the current month. The pawl finger is articulated with a perpetual lever (2).
