The device has a hood (33) pivotable over a seat area and provided for covering an armchair in a closed, lowered position as in an open, elevated position. The hood is pivotably supported at a horizontal carrier (2), and a bucket seat is anchored at the horizontal support in a hanging manner. A side protection device is arranged at an end side of an armchair assembly. An upwardly and downwardly pivotable horizontal longitudinal beam is attached to the armchair assembly. A safety bracket (9) is arranged at the longitudinal beam.
