The spring (2) has a wire coiled with an arbitrary slope. The wire has predetermined peripheral length predefined in a region of joint ends (2', 2'') for holding a tubular spring connector (4). A portion of the connector is provided with a contour deviating from a circumferential curvature that is provided in a peripheral region of the spring, where the portion is located in joint regions (3', 3'') of an oil scraper piston ring (1). Radius of curvature of a freely movable region of the connector corresponds to radius of curvature of the spring in a peripheral region.
