CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately continue the control of a hot rolling device without sudden change in a measurement value in switching from one measuring instrument to the other measuring instrument.

SOLUTION: The control device includes: a multigage 123 (first measurement unit) for measuring as a first process value; a flatness meter 127 (second measurement unit) for measuring as a second process value; an abnormality detection unit 12 for detecting abnormality of the multigage 123 (first measurement unit); a process information storage unit 2 for storing process information; a learning term calculation unit 13 for calculating a learning term Z for correcting the second process value; a learning term storage unit 3 for storing the learning term Z; a correction unit 14 for generating a correction plate width value (correction process value); a selection unit 15 for selecting the first process value before the time when abnormality is detected and the correction plate width value (correction process value) after the time when the abnormality is detected; and a device control unit 16 for performing control of a rolling line based on the selected process value and correction process value.
