<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly discharge water droplets or the like in a throttle device. <P>SOLUTION: The throttle device includes: a throttle body 10 for defining an intake passage to be mounted on an intake system of an internal combustion engine mounted on a vehicle which is tilted when stopping; a throttle valve 20; a drive mechanism 30 for driving the throttle valve to open/close it; and a cover member 40 fixed to the throttle body so as to define a storage space S for storing the drive mechanism in cooperation with the throttle body. The throttle body or the cover member has communication holes 60 and 70 formed on a lower position while being attached to the vehicle for causing the storage space to communicate with the outside, and slopes 43 and 12c formed in the storage space to tilt descendingly toward the communication hole so as to put the communication hole at the lowest end when the vehicle is tilted.
