<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle presence notification apparatus allowing "recognition of stopped vehicle", "recognition of traveling vehicle", "recognition of stop of traveling vehicle", and "recognition of start of stopped vehicle" even in a vehicle without engine sound. <P>SOLUTION: "Simulated idling sound" is generated from a vehicular horn and a parametric speaker during the stop of a vehicle. "Simulated traveling sound" is generated from the vehicular horn and the parametric speaker during the travel of the vehicle. The "simulated idling sound" allows a pedestrian to recognize the stopped vehicle, the "simulated traveling sound" allows a pedestrian to recognize the traveling vehicle, the change of the "simulated traveling sound" to the "simulated idling sound" allows a pedestrian to recognize the stop of the traveling vehicle, and the change of the "simulated idling sound" to the "simulated traveling sound" allows a pedestrian to recognize the start of the stopped vehicle.
