<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly vacuum cleaner that can eliminate the chances of bringing a visually unpleasant feeling to a user. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: a dust collecting container 3 removably disposed on a vacuum cleaner body 1, and for collecting dust therein, the dust collecting container being made of a transparent material; and a polymer dispersed liquid crystal film 18 capable of switching the transparency thereof between a transparent mode and an opaque mode with the application of a voltage. The dust collecting container 3 is covered with the polymer dispersed liquid crystal film 18 so that, for example, the dust collected in the dust collecting container 3 can be made invisible when the transparency of the polymer dispersed liquid crystal film 18 is switched to the opaque mode, thus preventing a user from feeling unpleasant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
