<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collection device for a vacuum cleaner that has an enhanced centrifugal separation performance and an increased dust collection capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The dust collection device includes: a centrifugal separation unit 23 in which a primary filter 22 for separating dust from suction air sucked by an electric fan is disposed; a secondary filter 24 for capturing fine dust the centrifugal separation unit 23 has failed to capture; a dust storing chamber 26 for storing dust centrifugally separated in the centrifugal separation unit 23; a fine dust storing chamber 27 for storing fine dust captured by the secondary filter 24; a bottom lid 28 for opening and closing the dust storing chamber 26 and the fine dust storing chamber 27; and a first communication portion 32 located on the downstream side of the secondary filter 24, and communicating with the electric fan. The bottom lid 28 is disposed with a second communication portion 42 to act the suction pressure of the electric fan 12 on the bottom lid. With the suction pressure acting on the bottom lid 28 disposed at the bottom of the dust collecting chamber 26, the dust separated in the centrifugal separation unit 23 is smoothly transferred to the dust collecting chamber 26 and prevented from being stirred up, and also a mass of collected dust can be compressed into a compact size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
