A multi-color eletrophoretic display device, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a first substrate for providing a display surface, and a second substrate which faces the first substrate; a plurality of cavities which are formed between the first and second substrates; a color fluid for being charged in a cavity, which comprises color sub-pixels, from the plurality of cavities; white eletrophoretic particles, which are dispersed in the color fluid, and black electrophoretic particles, which have a different electrophoretic mobility from the white electrophoretic particles; and a plurality of electrodes for adjusting the brightness of the color fluid by adjusting, within the cavity, the relative proportion of the white electrophoretic particles and the black electrophoretic particles that are seen through the display surface, wherein the color fluid can be colored using just a dye. |
