When the power is turned back on for a disk playback apparatus (100), playback information stored in a non-volatile memory unit (160) is readout by a playback information readout unit (170) and sent to a user operation automatic execution unit (180). Whether or not user input commands are restricted is determined on the basis of user operation mask information acquired by a user operation mask information acquisition unit (130). Information comparison units (182, 184) compare playlist information and play item information, and ultimately, the search yields a title with the playlist information and play item information last stored by the non-volatile memory unit (160) before the disk playback apparatus (100) was turned on, and normal playback of that title begins. With this configuration, Java applications are run while playback is quickly resumed for a BD-J title that was being played at the moment the power was turned off.
