<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power saving by stopping power supply to an unnecessary infrared light-emitting element, and thus to extend the service life of infrared light-emitting elements. <P>SOLUTION: A video/audio system comprises: a plurality of infrared light-emitting elements 5 for transmitting a signal related to a video or a sound to each area; a terminal 3 for receiving the signal from the infrared light-emitting elements 5; a terminal detection unit 2 for detecting the presence of the terminal 3 in each area; and power supply switching units 6 and 8 for stopping, on the basis of results of detection by the terminal detection unit 2, power supply to an infrared light-emitting element 5 which transmits the signal to an area in which the terminal 3 is not present. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
