<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the ability to effectively insert a needle to a desired depth in skin and the ability to protect a delicate microneedle prior to application to the skin. <P>SOLUTION: An applicator (100) is used to apply microneedle arrays (10) to a mammal.
