<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mop body member for a handy mop, which is costly advantageous and has excellent convenience to use, and to provide a method of producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The mop body member for a handy mop has a bag-shaped base material 11 formed of three-layered base fabrics 11a, 11b, and 11c provided in a back-to-back manner with an insertion-receiving groove 13A into which a single rod-shaped insertion member 22a of a handle member 20A having a single rod-shaped insertion member 22A is inserted, and insertion-receiving grooves 13B and 13B into which bifurcated rod-shaped insertion members 22B and 22B of a handle member 20B having bifurcated rod-shaped insertion members 22B and 22B are inserted. A dust wiping member 16 is attached to the whole of the periphery and external front end of the base material 11.
