A method for determining the amount of correction for the degree of opening of an EGR valve, the method having: a basic correction amount map creation step, wherein a basic correction amount map (BCM), which indicates the correlation between the rotational frequency, the load factor, and the correction amount when the degree of opening is maintained at a standard degree of opening and the EGR rate is maintained at a target EGR rate, is created on the basis of the correction amounts obtained for each of the different combinations of the rotational frequency and the load factor; and an expanded correction amount map creation step, wherein estimated values for correction amounts not included in the basic correction amount map are obtained by estimating the distribution of the correction amounts not included in the basic correction amount map (BCM) on the basis of the trend for the distribution of the correction amounts included in the basic correction amount map (BCM), and an expanded correction amount map (ECM), which indicates the correlation between the estimated values for the rotational frequency, the load factor, and the correction amount when the degree of opening is maintained at the standard degree of opening and the EGR rate is maintained at the target EGR rate, is created. |
