<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aggregation expansion processing device or the like suitable to select a word included in the same meaning category. <P>SOLUTION: A receiving unit 101 receives a seed character string. A retrieval unit 102 obtains a snippet from the document including the seed character string. A segment acquiring unit 103 divides the snippet by segment dividing character strings and obtains segments. A segmental element acquiring unit 104 divides the segment by segmental element dividing character strings and obtains segmental elements. A segmental score calculating unit 105 calculates the segmental score of the segment from standard deviation of the length of segmental elements. A segmental element score calculating unit 106 calculates the segmental element score of segmental elements from the distance between the position of the seed character string and the position of segmental elements and from the segmental score.
