<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can manufacture a supported ruthenium oxide stably, at low cost, and over a long period of time; and to provide a method of manufacturing chlorine using the supported ruthenium oxide. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing apparatus is used in which at least the part that contacts with the ruthenium compound consists of a stainless steel, and the composition of the stainless steel comprises: >0% but ≤0.08 mass% of carbon; >0% but ≤1.00 mass% of silicon; >0% but ≤2.00 mass% of manganese; >0% but ≤0.045 mass% of phosphorous; >0% but ≤0.030 mass% of sulfur; ≥10.00% but ≤14.00 mass% of nickel; ≥16.00% but ≤18.00 mass% of chromium; and ≥2.00% but ≤3.00 mass% of molybdenum (the balance is iron, and the chemical composition including iron is 100 mass%). A process is performed for calcining a carrying carrier obtained by: carrying a solution that contains the ruthenium compound on a carrier; and then drying the resultant solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
