<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a bottle teat for infants and small children that is easy to produce and enables the opening pressure of the ventilation valve to be specified. <P>SOLUTION: A bottle teat 1.1 includes a nipple sleeve 2 extending upward from a largest diameter 3. At the top, the nipple sleeve 2 bears the nipple 4 that has a nipple neck 5 and a nipple head 6. In one side, the nipple head is provided with a vent at an angle to a mid-axis 8 of the bottle teat 1.1. The nipple head has a drinking hole 10 on the opposite side. At the bottom, the nipple sleeve 2 has a constriction 11. At the bottom end of the constriction 11, the nipple sleeve 2 is connected to a nipple flange 12.1 projecting radially outward that concentrically surrounds the mid-axis 8. The nipple flange 12.1 is substantially flat but has a downward-projecting bulge 13 in a section of its perimeter. In addition, the nipple flange 12 has a peripheral, vertically projecting edge bead 14 on the outer edge.
