Provided is a plastic lens obtained by injection molding, the plastic lens being configured so that the plastic lens has a cylindrical flange section having a thickness greater than or equal to a predetermined value even after a gate section is cut off and so that the plastic lens can be easily heat-staked to a lens holder. This plastic lens (1) has at the center thereof a lens section (2) effectively functioning as a lens and also has at the outer periphery thereof an annular flange section (3) not functioning as a lens. A gate section (4) serving as a flow path for pouring molten plastic during molding is formed at the outer peripheral surface of the flange section. Cutting off the gate section at a tilt angle along a line including the intersection point of the gate section (4) and the outer peripheral flange section (3) forms a circular flange section having a thickness greater than or equal to a predetermined value.
