The device (1) has lower tool portions (4-6) that are arranged on a press table. A plunger (2) is located at the upper tool portions (8-11). A machining tool is arranged on the lower tool portion or the upper tool portion. The drive of the machining tool for processing a rotationally symmetrical component (14,14',14'',14''') along the machining direction is performed by the stroke movement of the plunger. An independent claim is included for method for operating machining tool in transfer press device.
