<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter certainly preventing supply of unnecessary power to a motor part even when an excessive load is imposed. <P>SOLUTION: The starter 1 includes: the motor part 3; an output shaft 4 receiving a rotation force of the motor part 3 to rotate; a gear mechanism 120 for transmitting a rotation force of the output shaft 4 to a ring gear 23 of an engine; and a switch unit 7 carrying/shutting off a current to/from the motor part 3. The starter 1 stores the output shaft 4, the gear mechanism 120, and the switch unit 7, inside a housing 17, and is formed with a groove part 104 for weakening rigidity of the housing 17 in a position wherein a part disposed with the switch unit 7 of the housing 17 is avoided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
