<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save power in relation to an optical line subscriber side termination device (ONU) connected to an OLT by an optical line. <P>SOLUTION: An ONU connected to a subscriber terminal via an interface unit (user IF unit) and connected to an OLT via an optical coupler and an optical transmission line includes a storage unit 4 for temporarily storing transmission data from the terminal received via the user IF unit 2 under the control of a physical layer part (PHY part) 3, a power supply control unit 12 for performing supply and stop control of operation power, and a PON control unit 5. The power supply control unit 12 comprises a control structure to supply continuous operation power to the user IF unit 2, the storage unit 4, and a control structure of writing in and reading out data, to start supplying operation power to each unit in the device based on information detecting transmission data being stored in the storage unit 4 due to start of communication with the subscriber terminal, and to shift to a power saving mode by stopping supply of the operation power after elapse of preset time from the time when the completion of communication with the subscriber terminal was detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
