<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect an elbow point by reducing errors from visual observation which may be generated when measuring light distribution including ruggedness on a horizontal cutoff line and a right-downward tendency in a method for detecting an elbow point of a headlight for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: a step for detecting a light distribution image of headlight projected to a light distribution screen surface by a light distribution detecting camera; a step for calculating a light-dark boundary line 15 on XY coordinate axes from the detected light distribution image by using arithmetic means; a step for respectively calculating Y-axis direction variations of a plurality of points on the light-dark boundary line per unit X-axis direction of the light-dark boundary line by using the arithmetic means; a step for calculating a difference between the variation of each point and the variation of its adjacent point; and a step, when there are a plurality of points having a calculated maximum difference out of the respective points, for setting a point having a maximum X coordinate out of the plurality of points as a point equal to an elbow point 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
