<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, high in a withstand voltage of an electrolyte while maintaining a specific conductivity of 2.0 mS/cm or higher, and an aluminum electrolytic capacitor using the electrolyte for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: An electrolyte for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor contains an electrolyte (A), an aprotic solvent (B) and a polymer compound (C) having a relative permittivity of 5-30 at 20°C and 1,000 Hz.
