The method involves connecting a drawbar with a motor car (10) by a clutch (12). A measurement value for a drawbar angle (gamma) is measured at a set of time points. An estimated value for the drawbar angle at the set of time points is determined as a function of a state variable of the motor car and/or a trailer (14). A correction factor for the measurement value is determined at each time point based on the respective estimated value, where the estimated value is determined at the time points provided in a time sequence.
