The device has a ventilation valve (10) e.g. rollover float valve, for ventilating a liquid tank of a motor car. A float (11) e.g. solid body, closes a valve opening (13) based on a liquid level (12) of the liquid tank. A steel counter weight (14) i.e. positively driven ball, pushes the float against the valve opening based on an inclination angle of the liquid tank. The float is made of buoyant material i.e. solid foam, having medium density that is lesser than that of liquid e.g. fuel, stored in the liquid tank. A spring (16) of the ventilation valve is partially arranged within the float.
