Fluid comprises at least a base glycol (I), optionally further additives, a glycol etherified with at least one alkyl group (II) and less than 2 wt.% of water. Fluid comprises at least a base glycol compound of formula (HO-[(CH 2) x-O] n-H) (I), optionally further additives, a glycol etherified with at least one alkyl group of formula (HO-[(CH 2) a-O] b-R) (II) and less than 2 wt.% of water. R : linear or branched 1-8C-alkyl; n : 1-14; x, a : 1-4; and b : 1-10. An independent claim is included for producing wafers, electronic components and photovoltaic cells, comprising sawing ingots from wafers, preferably with multiwire-saw using the separating fluid.
