The invention relates to a mechanical movement for a chronograph watch, comprising: a regulating body having an axle (2) and a spiral (1) mounted on said axle (2); and a starter (7) arranged in such a way as to impart a force in order to start the regulating body when the user starts the chronograph, the starter being arranged in such a way as to impart this force to a hub (3) mounted on the axle. Said solution is suitable for working with a regulating body that has a minimum of 3,600,000 alternations per hour.
