<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an OBI from being generated in an FTTC type CATV system which operates a plurality of interactive communication services using a plurality of CMTSs. <P>SOLUTION: The FTTC type CATV system includes a CMTS 10A, CMTS 10B which are arranged in a center, a plurality of optical taps 11 which are arranged in a field near respective subscribers' homes, and a plurality of CM 12A, CM 12B which are arranged in the respective subscribers' homes. The optical taps 11 are inserted in optical fiber cables. Four coaxial cables 17 are connected to the optical tap 11, and the coaxial cables 17 are drawn in the subscribers' homes 50. The optical tap 11 is composed of an optical branching unit which branches optical fiber cables 13 into two lines, an ONU, and a distributor which distributes the coaxial cables 17 into four lines.
