<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate the state of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: A verification value for an estimation result is calculated. The estimation result is corrected based on the verification value. Accordingly, a highly-reliable estimation result can be output. Furthermore, when it can be determined that there has been a continuous shift in a class to which a driver belongs, the estimation result is output. On the other hand, when it cannot be determined that there has been a continuous shift in a class to which the driver belongs, the previous estimation result is output.
