<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite cable having a plate-shaped optical waveguide portion that includes an optical waveguide and a plate-shaped conductive wire portion that includes a conductive wire, and having an end at which an intermediate plate is interposed between the optical waveguide portion and the conductive wire portion, thereby allowing components to be securely bonded to the surface of the conductive wire portion by ultrasonic bonding and also allowing a simplified structure, a decreased manufacturing cost and high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: A composite cable has a plate-shaped optical waveguide portion including an optical waveguide, a plate-shaped conductive wire portion including a conductive wire and a connection end formed at a longitudinal end of the composite cable. The connection end includes an optical waveguide end formed at a longitudinal end of the optical waveguide portion, a conductive end formed at a longitudinal end of the conductive wire portion, and an intermediate plate interposed between the optical waveguide end and the conductive end. The optical waveguide end, the intermediate plate and the conductive end are laminated and bonded to each other. On the surface of the conductive end, a bonding pad having components bonded thereto by ultrasonic bonding is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
