<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately adjusting a discharge flow rate in a fuel pump. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel pump 1 includes an intake port 2, a discharge port 4, and cylinders 20, 22, 24. The cylinders have pistons P1, P2, P3, each piston reciprocates between the top dead center TDC and the bottom dead center BDC, and the fuel pump 1 includes discharge valves 26, 28, 30 between the cylinders and the discharge port 4, and each discharge valve has a closed position and an open position. When a pressure inside a user CR hydraulically connected to the discharge port 4 exceeds a threshold value, the fuel pump 1 maintains each discharge valve in the open position for at least a part of time wherein the piston moves from the top dead center TDC to the bottom dead center BDC. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
