<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device which further improves the detection accuracy of recording material winding. <P>SOLUTION: An image heating device includes a rotatable fixing member 9, a rotatable pressure member 10 coming into contact with the fixing member to form a nip part NF, and a heat source 18 for heating the fixing member or the pressure member, and holds and conveys a recording material P through the nip part while heating an image ti on the recording material. The image heating device includes distance measuring means 14 for measuring a distance to the surface of the fixing member or the pressure member, and refers to a measured value of the distance measured continually by the distance measuring means in a prescribed time cycle to detect the recording material winding to the surface of the fixing member or the pressure member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
