<p>The present invention improves on the difficultly of authenticating a user under specific conditions, increases authentication rate, and improves usability. A verification device (1) acquires a plurality of items of biological information (8) from the same subject by using a biological information acquisition unit (2). The verification device (1) calculates the similarity between biological information (8) and verification information (6) as the verification score by using a first verification unit (3), assesses the identicalness of the biological information (8) and the verification information (6) by comparing the verification score and a first assessment value (5), and outputs the verification result. When verification has failed, the verification device (1) uses a second verification unit (4)to verify a plurality of items of biological information (8) that are in a predetermined relationship, by using the verification information (6) and a second assessment value (7), which is a less stringent assessment criterion than the first assessment value (5). The second verification unit (4) compares the verification score and the second assessment value (7), and assesses that there is identicalness when there is a plurality of items of biological information (8) that satisfy the criterion of the second assessment value (7).</p> |
