The comparison between a command value and a carrier is reduced and a current-type converter is controlled. The command value (I*) is a triangular-wave current command value having a cycle of one-third of the cycle of three-phase voltage (Vr, Vs, Vt). The carrier (C1) has a cycle shorter than the cycle of the command value (I*) and has a triangular-shaped waveform. Comparison result signals (Ka, Kb) are pulse signals indicating the results of the comparison between the carrier (C1) and the command value (I*). In the phase range of 30 to 90 degrees, a part (Kbrp) of the comparison result signal (Kb) in this range is employed as a gate signal (Srp*). In the phase range of 270 to 330 degrees, a part (Karp) of the comparison result signal (Ka) in this range is employed as the gate signal (Srp*). |
