<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a whole optical device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical device is provided with: an optical element 2 which comprises a first surface and a second surface which is on the opposite side of the optical element 2 to the first surface; an optical member 3 which is disposed above the first surface of the optical element 2; and a substrate 7 disposed at a position above the first surface of the optical element 2 and on a lateral side of the optical member 2. The optical member 3 comprises: a third surface facing the first surface; and a fourth surface which is on the opposite side of the optical member 3 to the third surface.
