The invention relates to a component (1; 2) intended to be arranged in a vehicle (10), having a first element (4) made of a transparent material, having a second element (5) made of a non-transparent material adjoining the first element (4) so that a boundary line (8) is formed between the first and the second element (4, 5), and having a coating (9) designed to be at least partially reflective for light impinging on the component (1; 2) from the outside and at least partially transparent to light passing through the transparent material of the first element (4). The component (1; 2) according to the invention intended to be arranged in a vehicle (10) is characterized in that the coating (9) at least partially covers the boundary line (8) between the first and the second element (4, 5) and segments of the first and the second element (4, 5) adjacent to the boundary line (8). The invention further relates to a method for producing such a component (1; 2) and to a control unit (3) in a vehicle (10) having such a component (1; 2).
