<p>An object of the present invention is to recover a storage system to a high-availability operational status without affecting the host computer. In order to ensure high availability, the following operation is performed in the storage system 1. A remote copy is performed between a primary LU in a first storage apparatus 10 and a secondary LU in a second storage apparatus 10 which are coupled to a host computer 3. In addition, common unique information is provided to the host computer 3 as unique information for accessing both LUs. When an error occurs in the first storage apparatus 10, a failover to the second storage apparatus 10 is carried out. In addition, the second storage apparatus 10 creates a new primary LU by performing local copy, and creates a new secondary LU by performing remote copy from the second storage apparatus 10 to the third storage apparatus 10. Accordingly, the operation is resumed by the second storage apparatus 10 and the third storage apparatus 10.</p> |
